The Lindsay Lohan Factor: Drunk Drivers Aren’t Tolerable at Any Age

Lindsay-Lohan-Alcohol-Bracelet I've always respected Lindsay Lohan as an actress. I wish I could say the same about her as a person.

I'm sorry, but drunk driving isn't cool. Not at twenty-four — her age now, after a recent birthday — and it certainly won't be at thirty-four or fifty-four.

She's lived a full life already. There was a time in her short, young career where she could have had any film she wanted. Having  been chosen by Prairie Home Companion movie director Robert Altman for his last film, to star along side of Academy Award winners  such renowned actors Meryl Streep Tommy Lee Jones, Tim Russell, John C. Reilly, Woody Harrelson and Lily Tomlin.

The talent–the spark–was there once. But the drive has to be there, too.

We all have our demons. Sometimes the come out of a bottle. When that happens, there is the likelihood of injuring or killing someone. Nothing cute about that.

It should be interesting to see what a 90-day stint in prison will do to her. Will it be a wake-up call, or drive her deeper into the abyss of self-doubt, self-hatred, and self-destruction?

As a parent, as a former fan, I pray for the former.

I know this much: I wouldn't want my kids to go through the hell she'll need to endure to get through the next few months — and then face the true underlying issues that put her there.

On the other hand, she's got it pretty easy. If she wasn't Lindsay Lohan, her sentence might have been longer, or maybe she wouldn't have gotten the probation to break in the first place.

You can see her reaction in this CNN video clip….

And here's an article that has an insightful assessment of her fall from grace.

bedroom community of Paradise Heights, who have the secrets, sex, money
and scandal of an OK! Magazine cover story. Josie Brown is a skilled
